The Toronto Science Policy Network (TSPN) is now hosting elections for the 2020-21 academic year.
Our nomination period will run July 1st 2020 until July 22nd 2020 at midnight. Our voting period will run from July 24th to July 31st 2020 at midnight.
As per our constitution, nominees must be a general member of TSPN:
- A member of the University of Toronto (student, post-doc, faculty or alumni) and
- Have attended at least two (2) TSPN meetings or events in the last academic year.
There are ten available positions: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Fundraising Lead, Co-Marketing Leads (2), Internal Affairs Officer, External Affairs Officer, Executive-At-Large (2). You can learn more about the roles, and their associated responsibilities, in section five of our constitution.
Please complete this nomination form if you are interested in running for an executive position on the 2020-2021 TSPN team.
Only General Members, Committee Members, and Executive Members in good standing are eligible for voting. We will distribute a voting link (only accessible by individuals affiliated with the University of Toronto) via our mailing list.

COVID-19 has had a huge impact in all our lives, leading to the temporary closure of the university buildings and labs, a shift to online classes, and working from home. In consultation with student groups, we have developed a survey to learn about the impact of COVID-19 on the lives of Canadian graduate students including their graduate studies, and career pathways.
On April 22nd, Toronto Science Policy Network (TSPN) launched a survey to understand the impact of COVID-19 on graduate students across Canada. The survey includes questions relating to working from home, health and wellness, teaching and course requirements, research, funding, and your experiences as a graduate student during COVID-19.
The data collected from this survey will be kept completely anonymous. The purpose of the survey is to ensure that there is evidence available for student groups/unions and institutions to launch any efforts to support graduate students. Only aggregate and anonymous data may be shared and used by representatives of student associations and university administrations across Canada, including data subsets where appropriate.
